Adorable tea bag cookies for the holidays with a buttery texture and charming design, perfect for gifting or enjoying with a cozy cup of tea.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
100 g melted chocolate (for dipping)
String and small paper tags (for decoration)

Instructions

Cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and smooth.
Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until firm.
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into small rectangles to resemble tea bags.
Use a skewer or toothpick to poke a small hole near the top of each cookie.
Place cookies on the baking tray and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool completely.
Dip one side of each cookie into melted chocolate and let set.
Thread string through the hole and attach a small paper tag to create the tea bag look.

Notes

Chill dough well to maintain clean cookie shapes.
Do not overbake to keep cookies tender and buttery.
Use good-quality chocolate for dipping.
Tags can be customized for holidays or special occasions.
Decorations are optional but add a fun visual touch.
