This classic Caesar Salad combines crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, Parmesan cheese, and creamy homemade Caesar dressing. Perfect for a light lunch, side dish, or elegant starter.

Ingredients

For the Salad:
2 large heads romaine lettuce, chopped
1 cup croutons
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
For the Caesar Dressing:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce thoroughly, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Place the chopped romaine lettuce in a large salad bowl.
Add the croutons and grated Parmesan cheese.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently until evenly coated.
Serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper if desired.

Notes

For a more authentic Caesar dressing, use anchovy paste or finely minced anchovies.
Homemade croutons provide the best flavor and texture.
Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or salmon for a complete meal.
Dress the salad just before serving to keep the lettuce crisp.
