Juicy beef patties slow-cooked in savory onion gravy—this easy Salisbury steak is pure comfort food with minimal prep.

Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef

1 packet onion soup mix

2 cups beef broth

1 large onion, sliced

Instructions

Shape ground beef into thick patties or large meatballs.

(Optional) Brown patties on both sides in a skillet over medium-high heat for added flavor.

Place sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Arrange beef patties on top of the onions.

Sprinkle onion soup mix evenly over the meat.

Pour beef broth over everything.

Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the patties are tender and cooked through.

Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles, spooning the onion gravy on top.

Notes

For thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes.

Use ground turkey or pork as a variation.

Add mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.

Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3–4 days and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
