Ingredients

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef

½ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs

¼ cup milk

1 packet dry onion soup mix

2 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup

1 packet dry au jus mix

1 cup water

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, onion soup mix, and garlic. Mix until evenly blended. Shape into 6 patties.

Dredge patties in flour, shaking off excess.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown patties 3–4 minutes per side.

Place browned patties in the bottom of a slow cooker.

In a separate bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, au jus mix, water, thyme, and rosemary.

Pour gravy mixture over patties in slow cooker.

Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours, until patties are tender and cooked through.

Serve hot with plenty of garlic herb gravy spooned over top.

Notes

Swap in ground turkey for a lighter version.

Add sliced mushrooms for extra flavor.

For spice, stir in red pepper flakes.

Use gluten-free bread crumbs and flour for a gluten-free variation.

If gravy is too thin, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir in before serving.
