A hearty, cheesy dip loaded with seasoned meat, beans, and gooey melted cheese for the ultimate party snack.
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade blend)
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa
2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (divided)
1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies (optional)
Chopped green onions, for garnish
Tortilla chips, for serving
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in taco seasoning and 2–3 tbsp water. Cook until seasoning is well distributed.
In a large mixing bowl, combine refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, and half of the shredded cheese.
Stir in cooked beef and diced green chilies (if using).
Spread mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with remaining shredded cheese.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with tortilla chips.
Add jalapeños for extra spice.
Can be prepped ahead and baked just before serving.
Leftovers make a great burrito filling.
Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
