8 cups finely diced cabbage
¼ cup shredded carrot
1 tablespoon finely grated onion
⅓ cup granulated sugar
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup whole milk
¼ cup well-shaken buttermilk
1½ tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Salt and black pepper, to taste
In a large mixing bowl, combine grated onion and sugar.
Whisk in mayonnaise, whole milk, and buttermilk to form the base of the dressing.
