These crispy, golden cinnamon fritters are soft on the inside and coated in sweet cinnamon sugar. A quick and festive treat perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1½ tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/3 cup milk

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

Vegetable or canola oil, for frying

Optional Toppings:

Powdered sugar

Cinnamon sugar

Simple glaze (powdered sugar + milk)

Instructions

Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.

Add the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then stir in the milk and vanilla. Pour into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The batter should be thick.

Heat the Oil
Pour oil into a deep pan or pot and heat over medium to 350°F (use a thermometer if possible).

Fry the Fritters
Drop small spoonfuls (or use a cookie scoop) into hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

Drain & Finish
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain. While still warm, dust with powdered sugar or roll in cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Store: Airtight container, room temp, up to 2 days

Reheat: Toaster oven or air fryer to restore crispness

Avoid: Microwaving — it makes them soggy

Freeze: Flash-freeze on a tray, store in a bag, reheat in oven/air fryer
