This cheesy, beefy casserole is a quick and comforting dinner idea that combines all your favorite burger flavors with pasta in one dish.
1 pound ground beef
12 ounces cavatappi pasta
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup heavy cream or milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
Reduce heat to medium. Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Add heavy cream or milk, stirring until fully combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook cavatappi pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and return to the pot.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Add the beef mixture to the pasta and stir well. Mix in half of the shredded cheese.
Transfer mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top evenly with remaining cheese.
Bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Swap cavatappi with penne or rotini if needed.
For extra cheeseburger flavor, add a tablespoon of ketchup or mustard to the sauce.
Ground turkey works well as a lighter alternative.
Leftovers reheat beautifully and are great for meal prep.
