These tender, juicy steak bites are slow-cooked to perfection in the crockpot—easy, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or game day snacks.
For the Meat:
2 pounds beef sirloin, chuck roast, or stew meat, cut into bite-sized chunks
For the Seasoning & Sauce:
3 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce (or coconut aminos for gluten-free)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for finishing)
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Prep the Meat:
Pat steak bites dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, and thyme.
Sear for Flavor (Optional but Recommended):
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Quickly sear steak bites in batches until browned on all sides (they don’t need to cook through).
Slow Cook:
Transfer steak bites to the crockpot. Add garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir to coat.
Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3 hours, until beef is fork-tender.
Finish:
Stir in butter before serving for a rich, silky finish. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Searing is optional, but it adds rich flavor and caramelization.
For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce.
Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 3–4 days or can be frozen for up to 2 months.
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, roasted veggies, or toothpicks as a party appetizer!
