Warm, fluffy, and rolled in buttery cinnamon sugar—these donut-inspired muffins are a cozy breakfast treat everyone loves.

Ingredients

For the muffins:

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup granulated sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup milk

1 large egg

1½ cups all-purpose flour

1½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the topping:

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, milk, and egg.

In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix.

Divide batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ⅔ full.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

While muffins bake, mix topping sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Once muffins are slightly cooled, brush the tops with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar topping.

Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
