These chewy brown sugar maple cookies are rich, soft, and sweet—perfect for cozy moments, fall baking, or sharing with friends over coffee.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

¼ cup pure maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in maple syrup and vanilla extract.

Beat in the egg until fully incorporated.

Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are still soft.

Cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

Do not overbake; cookies should stay soft in the center.

Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm, spiced twist.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
