Ingredients

4 sub rolls or Italian hoagie buns

8 slices salami

8 slices pepperoni

8 slices deli ham

8 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese

1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)

1 cup shredded lettuce (optional, for serving)

1 medium tomato, sliced (optional, for serving)

¼ cup sliced banana peppers or pepperoncini (optional)

2 tbsp Italian dressing or oil and vinegar

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing rolls)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Slice sub rolls in half lengthwise, keeping one side attached, and place on a baking sheet.

Layer each sandwich with salami, pepperoni, ham, and cheese. Add onions or peppers if using.

Drizzle with Italian dressing or oil and vinegar, then sprinkle with dried oregano.

Close the rolls and brush the tops with melted butter.

Loosely cover with foil and bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted.

Remove foil and bake uncovered for another 3–5 minutes to crisp the tops.

Let cool slightly, then add lettuce and tomato if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Swap meats like turkey, roast beef, capicola, or soppressata for variation.

Add pepper jack or provolone for more heat or richness.

Mix garlic powder into melted butter for a garlic bread-style top.

Turn into a party tray using slider rolls baked together.

Wrap leftovers in foil and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in oven at 350°F.
