Crispy, cheesy, and ready in minutes—this easy egg toast is the ultimate air fryer breakfast for busy mornings.

Ingredients

1 slice white bread

1 egg

3 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Sesame seeds, for topping

Maple syrup or honey, for serving (optional)

Instructions

Place a slice of white bread in your air fryer basket. No need to pre-toast.

Press the center gently with the back of a spoon to create a shallow well for the egg.

Brush or drizzle olive oil over the bread, focusing on the edges for extra crispiness.

Carefully crack an egg into the well in the center of the bread.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top, including the edges if some cheese falls there.

Air fry at 175°C (350°F) for 7 minutes, checking around 5 minutes for doneness.

For a runny yolk: remove around 7 minutes.

For a more set egg: cook up to 10 minutes.

Once cooked, sprinkle sesame seeds and a pinch of salt over the top.

Serve warm, with an optional drizzle of maple syrup or honey.

Notes

Use sourdough, multigrain, or brioche for a different flavor base.

For extra flavor, add a pinch of black pepper, garlic powder, or chili flakes before air frying.

Make it vegetarian-friendly by skipping sesame and adding herbs like chives or parsley.

Double the batch—just make sure there’s space in the air fryer basket so the egg doesn’t run.
